unity
Out in our commons, we just had five minutes of silence for the victims of the shooting. The crowd was huge, packed in tightly, and the snow was gently falling down.
Bells tolled, echoing across campus. It was in its own way beautiful. At the end of the service someone released five red balloons. They danced around, seperating slowly, the ribbon curling behind them, like kite streamers. Finally one seemed to ascend to the heavens and the other four quickly followed its lead.
As the balloons soared out of sight, and the snow softly fell, the tears once again started to flow.
