Monday update
After almost three weeks on life support my co-worker finally passed away yesterday. I don't know that it will sink in for a long time that she's not upstairs and I'll not run into her sooner or later.
Easter was nice. Day before Easter was nicer. I might have mentioned it last fall, I don't remember, but I had a friend in high school who I just missed so much afterwards. We went out seperate ways after graduation and I only went to the 10 yr. reunion to see him. He was a total asshat to me. It was like he hated me. For 10 more years I'd wondered what happened and when our 20th reunion booklet came out, I emailed him and asked him what happened. He said he'd like to get together and talk next time he was in town.
That turned out to be this last weekend. Out of the blue Friday I got an email with his cell phone number and a request to meet up. We met up at the bookstore Saturday afternoon. It was awkward at first but then the conversation flowed easily. I found out why he was as weird as he was and he apologized.
Talking to him lifted a huge weight from my heart and I cried in my car after he left.
I just got an email from him thanking me for seeing him and that he wants me to know that I have another friend in him.
A little part of my heart got repaired with this all.
