To the unknown driver of a dark colored pick up truck:
A couple Friday’s ago you caused a car to swerve off the road and back on into the path of a semi truck. You caused this by passing the semi truck in blizzard like conditions. You caused this by being in a hurry. You caused this by being a selfish asshole.
And you kept on going, disregarding the traumatic crash in your rear view mirror.
Because of you my co-worker suffered traumatic brain trama.
Because of you she was kept in a medically induced coma to keep the brain swelling down.
Because of you it took over two weeks to find out that a once brilliant mind is now nothing.
Because of you a husband and parents had to make a decision to remove life support.
Because of you someone is slowly dying in icu in a hospital an hour away, her organs shutting down, her breathing shallow.
Because of you I’ve lost a co-worker.
Because of you someone is going to be a widower.
Because of you someone can now say “we lost a daughter.”
Because of you someone has lost their sister.
Because of you a best friend is beside herself in grief.
Because of you her close friends have been suffering along with her family.
Because of you a million tears have been shed and million more are yet to come.
Because of you a beautiful little girl will now grow up without the mother who adored her more than anything in the world.
All because you were in a hurry. A fucking hurry!
