very curious
Long ago, back when I was barely in my 20s, I worked with a rather odd guy for my white bread standards. He fancied himself an artist, but as I ammany things, an art appreciator I am not. To me his works were just … well, odd. He used to give me some of his works, one’s primarily done by layering photo copied items using different toner colors. Last week one of my co-workers found out this guy died back in November. I think he’d been gone from here for well over 13 years. I’d never communicated with him after he left, but his name came up in conversations over the years.
Monday my mother wanted me to clean through some of my stuff stored at her house. In a box, with all my high school and community college things was one of his art works. While the timing of this alone is quite spooky, the fact is there was no reason this should have been in that box. There was a 3 year span from graduating community college to starting this job. Add probably another year or two on that for getting this little item. Of all the millions of places to store it, that would never have been it. Plus there was no reason I would have saved it …
Ever wonder if someone is saying “hi” from the other side?
